New Orleans, and God's work...

We have been in New Orleans for 15 days now.
It is sad to see the city devastated and some quarters were immersed completely, everything was lost and some houses even floated, because the water was to much.
Many people live in trailers waiting for their house being rebuilt, and some others are living in temporary houses.
Some places are not seriously damaged but, when the hurricane hit many parts of the city were under water, because most of those quarters are below the see level, and the lake on the North made a big flood in the whole city.

We are here working volunteering with the Salvation Army, most of the time we do home visit, checking how are the families doing, checking out if the progress of the houses that were accepted to get grants.
We talk to those people and they explain what happened and what do they still need to complete the house. Then we pray for them, and it's really exciting to see people encouraged by our prayers and our presence on the field.

Yesterday, it was intense, we met this lady and she didn't stop crying all the time, when me and my friend Kelly talked to her. She had lots of losses, her dad few times before , her husband after the hurricane, her houses and everything in it was gone in just one day, all the memories. She said God exists because normally she couldn't cope but because of God she can handle it. She recognized that people from everywhere came to help out and even from all around the world, then I said to her that I am from Madagascar and she couldn't stop crying again. She was really touched, encouraged by our prayers and also we comforted her after that.
It was intense.

God is working in here, and He is watching over the situation.

I am grateful to God that I am representing Malagasy missionaries here in this city, as we are starting to mobilize Malagasy Christians in our ministry back home, to go and preach the Gospel to all nations, to be missionaries.
I feel that it is already starting to take place.

Be blessed.
Narilanto.
